The homemade kitchen cleaners are prepared in a way that they are safe to use around food. So, some of the ingredients used may be a little different than some of the cleaning ingredients used elsewhere in your house.

Here you will find a list of some of the essential things that are needed in the kitchen. I am not a gadget person at all. However, some kitchen appliances and gadgets are just essential when preparing or preserving different foods in the kitchen.

Homemade Snacks/Candies

Many are on a low carb diet or low sugar diet these days. So, you will discover that the homemade snacks and candies are delicious sugar free recipes that anyone can make and eat. And if you want to use regular sugar, the recipes do not have to be prepared sugar free. Simply use the regular sugar version of the different ingredients.

Seasonings/Spices

If you are gardening or even if you are not gardening, you may be interested in making some of your own seasoning blends or spice blends. Some of the seasoning blends can be very convenient if you are growing different kitchen herbs in your container garden. This will promote plant growth when it is their season for growing. And it can keep your cupboard filled with fresh dried cooking herbs that you typically cook with when they are no longer in their growing season. The spice blends can be made for convenience and taste.

Storing/Preserving

With cooking and gardening, one thing often leads to another. So, if you are fortunate enough to have an abundant harvest, you may want to can, pickle, or dehydrate some of your foods.

  • Canning – Canning is another way to preserve fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Pickling – Pickling is a really easy way to preserve some foods.
  • Dehydrating – You can dehydrate fruits, vegetables, spices, and herbs. Dehydrated fruits and vegetables are a method of preserving. While you can dehydrate spices and herbs to make powdered seasonings.
  • Drying – To keep your kitchen herb garden growing and thriving, you can routinely give them a good trim. You can then dry the herbs to use in some of your cooking recipes.
