This this beautiful blue colored, minty, and soapy DIY foot soak is a wonderful way to relax any time of year! In the spring, it can be a great way to relax and shake off the winter blues while getting your feet ready for summer. And in the summer, this DIY foot soak can be used to keep your feet looking and feeling flip flop ready. A foot soak can be warm and comforting in the fall and it is a must for your feet after the harsh winter weather. And besides all of that, the right DIY foot soak can give you your daily dose of magnesium! So, let’s get to this colorful, minty, soapy DIY foot soak.

DIY Foot Soak

Ingredients

This lovely smelling DIY foot soak is a salon quality foot soak. It is prepared with nourishing Epsom salt, sudsy SLSA, moisturizing almond oil, refreshing peppermint essential oil, and a calming blue colorant.

1. Epsom Salt

The Epsom salt is the main ingredient used to prepare this DIY foot soak. It is a popular choice because it contains magnesium. Magnesium is a mineral that calms the nerves and relaxes the muscles in the body. So, it is the perfect DIY foot soak ingredient for tired achy feet after a long stressful day!

2. SLSA

The Sodium Laury Sulfoacetate (SLSA) is a popular ingredient used to make bath bombs and soaps. It is a powdery foaming agent that is used in the DIY foot soak to create a light foaming action to help clean your feet. So, if you are adding it to your massaging foot bath, you may end up with even more bubbles. This ingredient is also used in my favorite DIY laundry detergent powder recipe. It is a concentrated powder that should be handled with care as instructed on the package it comes in.

3. Almond Oil

Almond oil is the perfect moisturizing oil for skin care. It is not too thin, and not too thick. Therefore, your feet can soak up a little moisturizing oil as you treat yourself to the DIY foot soak. This oil is currently also used in most of the DIY lip balm recipes. And it is also used in one of the DIY hair serum recipes.

4. Peppermint Essential Oil

Peppermint essential oil is a refreshingly stimulating oil that creates the perfect aroma to breath in while you are soaking your feet. The aroma can ease anxiety and lift your mood. And it creates a cool, refreshing sensation for tired and achy feet. It too is used in the DIY peppermint lip balm recipe and DIY peppermint lip scrub recipe.

5. Colorant

A powdered blue food colorant is used to color this foot soak. It is the same colorant used to prepare the peppermint lip scrub. Just the color of blue can soothe and relax. While it is not exactly like looking at a beautiful blue ocean, you can pretend as you enjoy the aroma of this lovely DIY foot soak recipe.

Instructions:

  1. Mix all of the ingredients together in a small bowl.
  2. Then place the peppermint DIY foot soak in a storage jar with a lid.

How To Use:

  1. Fill your foot basin or foot massage bath with warm water.
  2. Then add about a tablespoon of the DIY foot soak to foot basin or about 1/2 tablespoon to a foot massage bath.
